The Magician: The Long Day Kickstarter is live!

Standard

I just wanted to take a minute and point you guys to the Kickstarter that just dropped for the new book from Fifth Dimension Comics, The Magician: The Long Day.

Written by David M. Brown, with art by the mighty D.N.S. and letters and design by Robin Jones, The Magician is a violent look at the 70’s that drives into the dirt, grime, violence, and dark humor of professional killers, scumbags, criminals and more. Having gotten a look at things ahead of time, I can tell you it is disturbing, and funny, and well worth a look.

Check it out here.

There Is Gravy On This Comic Book

Standard

The Obscura Collected Edition is here, at least in digital form, and damn is it gorgeous. Physical copies won’t be far behind, I can’t wait to hold the actual book in my hands. Say, who is that smart, handsome fella with a blurb on the back cover?

It's Carl... Oh hey, another name back here looks familiar

Big thanks to Fifth Dimension Comics and everyone involved in Obscura, it is beautiful. I never thought I would get to have a cover blurb on a book, especially one this effing good.

(Note: this was supposed to post Wednesday morning and was written as such, before for whatever reason I lost all internet and cell service yesterday for the entire day)

Let’s make Chewler happen folks!

Standard

There is a new Kickstarter going on for Chewler a new book from friends of The Gravy Age David M. Brown (author of the creepy Obscura, that I loved) from Fifth Dimension Comics, with art by the brain-melting Shannon Gretzon from Exspastic Comics (that I interviewed here) and letterer Sean Fagan (who… isn’t Donald Fagan from Steely Dan? I didn’t think out this parenthetical ahead of time). What’s not to love about this book? Nazi’s? The internet loves those! I dare you to get into an argument online and see how long it takes for them to get mentioned. Aliens? Look, if you don’t know they run everything. Clones? Everybody wants a clone, but one that’s just dumb enough to go to work for you, because face it, it might rain out there and you don’t want to put on pants, besides, Rockford Files is on. Go check it out though folks, let’s make this a thing.* You can go check out the Kickstarter for Chewler here. And stay tuned for a review of Chewler, coming soon!

*Not a thing like we made Limp Bizkit, I was there, you were there, we all just stood by and let it happen. Jesus people…
