Cool stuff from friends of The Gravy Age!

Standard

If you aren’t in Northern California, you may not have seen this story on your news. A young boy by the name of Joey Sinco has been battling brain cancer, the University Of The Pacific and the Make-A-Wish foundation took some time to help Joey feel like the hero he is. You can watch the video here among the things done during the halftime of the game at UOP was a presentation of a custom cover of Joey and Captain America by local creators, and genuinely great guys Sean Miller and Travis Compton from Anchor Comics, who you may remember from one of our early episodes of the podcast where we talked to them a bit about making comics and more. That episode was recorded at my LCS The Launchpad. Which brings to the second thing I wanted to link to.

Mike from The Launchpad has a Kickstarter in progress called Night Of The Bloody Hooks, which is a set of horror themed adventure hooks for table-top RPG’s, they don’t need too much more to go, but if you are a gamer, go give it a look and if you can’t donate, please share. Thanks so much!

The newest Avengers trailer is all up in this joint!

Standard

The new trailer for Avengers: Age Of Ultron just dropped, and it looks freaking awesome! We finally get to see a bit of that Hulk vs Hulkbuster action, some speculation had been that it wasn’t Tony in the armor awhile back, but it sure looks like him piloting it in this trailer. And Hulk looked pretty beat up there. And it makes me wonder, can you have a Marvel team without a redhead being a member at some point? Or two. And that dude is Klaw right? Who was the chick we saw from behind?  Is it May yet? I’m dying to see The Vision.

Happy Holidays from The Gravy Age

Standard

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, or whatever you choose to celebrate this time of year. It’s not about the gifts, or whatever, it’s about giving what you can, the most important thing being giving your love to those in your life. Even the people you’ve never met, all those wacky wonderful internet friends. Every day is a gift and so many of you have made this year amazing. So for my Christmas, I want to take a minute and just say thanks to everyone that has stopped by the site or listened to the show this year. Big thanks to my co-host Chris, his amazing, supportive, funny wife Mariah. Thanks to my kids for being awesome. Thank you to Jessica, my friend and secret weapon in life, I love you Jess, I’m so proud of you. Mad Mock & Dave from Z-Poc Nation, love the show. The Axeology crew. Neil & Annalise Annalies, and their amazing show Dark Angels & Pretty Freaks. The Didn’t Read It crew, Ben, Matt, & Sam. Everyone we’ve interviewed for the site, especially Dale Lazarov for bringing all those (rock hard) clicks to the site. Huge thanks to Carl Smith for putting me in touch with a bunch of amazing creators, and lots of inspiration. Jeff & Graeme from Wait, What? Amish Baby Machine brought so many laughs, and I still laugh about a certain Ginger Baker tweet lol. Seven Days A Geek, Green Up, Graphic Novice.
Lot’s of love to the amazing Horror Honeys ladies, especially Kat, Linnie, Katie & Lisa. My dog Kirby for being a funny looking thing. The awesomely sweet Leslie, for being the best. Mike & the crew at The Launchpad, my LCS here in Lodi. Hardluck Kings for making affordable, kick-ass guitars, seriously, check them out! There are so many more of you out there, but I’ve got 2/3 kids awake and dying to get Christmas under way.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer! Yes, it’s everywhere already!

The internet was on fire with turgid nerds this morning (from now on, nerd-boners shall be referred to a ‘nerdgidity’) you can gauge just how Nerdgid everyone is by all the people typing IN ALL CAPS AND SO MANY EXCLAMATION POINTS!!! But yeah, this trailer is pretty exciting, I’m still nerdgid from first seeing the Millennium Falcon that first time. Stay tuned to Gotham for my new character Vinnie “Millennium”  Falcone. Anyway, what did you think? I was fully expecting to get Rick-rolled again, so it made me happy to actually see some footage. So many nerd babies will be conceived today.
