A Gravy Age shout out and local geek resource…

Standard

Big thanks to the fine folks at Empires Comics Vault in Sacramento, they have compiled a list of assorted Sacramento area podcasts, swing by and check it out here. Looks like I have lots of new podcasts to check out, I’m all for anything that brings fans together. Who knows, maybe we’ll all fight and team-up, Marvel style 🙂

Another FCBD has come and gone

Standard

Sorry about the lack of posts lately, some family issues have kept me from writing much of anything. Did you go out for Free Comic Book Day? Any cool goodies? People dressed up? The kids and I only hit one shop, which was quite full, then got lunch and hit the park. I also decided to give Marvel Unlimited a try this month after missing the cheap trial not too long ago. And I must say, I have been loving it so far, in the last couple days I finally read Nextwave: Agents Of H.A.T.E. as well as Squadron Supreme and the Giffen/DeMatteis/Maguire Defenders mini from 2005. Also I am aware I said “uh-huh” about 120 times on the last podcast, and for that I apologize. Thanks too to everyone that has stopped by, we broke 500 views in like 11 countries for The Gravy Age recently. Will get back to posting soon. Talk about your FCBD in the comments. See ya soon,

Boneyard #1

Boneyard vol 1

If there are two things that I am a sucker for, it’s monsters and sweet love stories. And humor. Okay, that’s three things, four if you throw guitars in there. Anyway, years ago I read this volume somehow and remembered it fondly. Poking around one night on Comixology one night I decided to see if this series was available on there, and I was super excited to see that it was. Would I still enjoy it? Does that 17+ rating seem justified? Scared kids? Grab your wooden stakes, silver bullets, and lets step inside…the Boneyard (*points at crotch, wiggles eyebrows*)
