This week the guys went back to revisit The Gravy Age episode one. They took a look back at the gear, the notes, and the nerves. Also, the launch of the High Voltage Radio Network was announced! Finally, there’s a listener voice-mail and a smidge of comic talk.
Episode 25! This week we take on Frozen, Disneyland, hipsters, and analyze the new Deconnick book “Bitch Planet.” We also listen to some listener voicemail and Kris gives us the elevator pitch for a script he’s working on.
Episode XXIV has arrived! Topics for this episode include Days of Future Past, recent character casting announcements, those crazy cosplay kids ruining cons (not), the Star Wars Episode VII teaser, chlorinated Furries, and the Fantastic 4 film being “Doomed” to fail. Chris also shares tales of his recent San Fran trip. Warning; there is some talk of various bodily functions in this episode.
The number 23! This week Chris shares what comic book related things he’s grateful for. The guys also talk about the new Starlin/Thanos graphic novel, Constantine’s possible single season, Wonder Woman’s director, Wade/Samnee’s Daredevil run coming to an end, and a change in the Rat Queens creative team. Finally, Kris takes another quiz.
First things first, a deep heartfelt thanks to those who have served and continue to serve from The Gravy Age. THANK YOU. And of course to the many greats that served and returned to work, the great ones that built these wonderful four colored worlds, that touched the hearts and minds of so many people through their work, comics were built by Veterans. Follow me after the jump for a fascinating trip into the second World War with Nick Cardy: The Artist At War.
This week the boys share their podcast set-up in hopes of getting more people podding. Got any podcasting questions? Let ‘em know. They are in no way experts but are more than happy to share their experiences. They also kinda recap Gotham, Arrow (insert dry-heave), Flash, Agents of SHIELD and Constantine. WB/DC’s lack of sticktoitiveness is put under a microscope. Additionally bad Canadian zombie jokes are made and we find out Marvel is run by a turbo-dick. Finally, we listen to a message from the one and only Mad Mock! Look for Mad Mock over at Z-Poc Nation.
Blackjack! This episode Kris & Chris read the Weekly World News. They also mull over the trailer for Avengers 2, talk nerd TV, and listen to our first ever voicemail! Thanks again, Adam from Axeology, for dropping us a line.
We are now 20 deep! Topics are all over the place this week and include NYCC, Batmobiles, Fall movies, Fantastic Four no more, TV, Falcon America, Lemire writing ANOTHER archer, I Kill Giants, Wonder Woman ’77, and the first ever Gravy Age giveaway!
Today, September 30th is National Podcast Day. I just wanted to take a moment to share some podcasts I dig with with you. Podcasting is often done for no money, and more often costs the people who do it money. Maybe you can’t give all the podcasts you love some money, but you can certainly let them know you listen and you appreciate what they do. I’m going to list a bunch of podcasts I listen to as my way of showing my appreciation to all these cool folks who have provided me with hundreds of hours of free entertainment. Follow me
