I just got a new tablet with some birthday giftcards, and I wanted to to try a test post to see how this thing works, I am digging it. It’s a little dusty in The Gravy Cave, but I’m clearing out the cobwebs, and knockin’ the bottom out (Of your Mooom), or whatever. I have another episode in the can, just needs a little polishing, which I’ll do tomorrow morning. Also, I’ve read stuff lately, so I’ll work on getting lots o’ stuff done. Thanks (and sorry),
Internet rabbit-holes can lead you to some cool places occasionally. Mostly though, once you start down them you are led, either through the comments or who knows how else to someone blaming everything on Space Jews. One long, winding rabbit-hole for me started with Godzilla composer Akira Ifukube and John Carpenter soundtracks, which led to me discovering Sonic State, which led to me finding the amazing Marc Doty (Automatic Gainsay) and his fantastic videos, which led to me getting a Korg MS-20 mini, which led to me looking up bands or songs featuring the MS-20, which led me to Fartbarf. With a name like that, I had to check them out, and I’m so glad I did.
It’s been a hectic time at The Gravy Cave North. My laptop was in the last sputtering throes of usefulness. It’s been replaced and I have a Gravy On The Side with the amazing, talented, Brenna Sahatjian that is in the can. Coming soon to a podcast app of your choosing soon. As long as you choose Stitcher, iTunes, and GooglePlay lol
Head on over to the awesome Longbox Graveyard today for a guest post by me, where I go on and on about Scooby Apocalypse. Thanks to Paul for letting me write about a series I liked far more than I expected to. You can check out here.
We mentioned a couple episodes ago that we would like to share creative things from the fine folks out there in internet land. Do you have a song you would like us to end an episode with? Or a poem? Something you created you would like to share with the world? Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
DC finally released a couple of their reimagined cartoon comics, one of which Scooby Apocalypse, I expected to hate based on nothing but the title. And Shaggy’s hipster new look. But did it actually deserve the hate?
I actually wrote this a couple weeks ago, at probably 2:00 in the morning, I was to put it mildly, a bit spacey. I thought about rewriting it, but that wouldn’t be as fun as forever documenting my brain trying to work. It probably makes no sense. Continue reading
